「 The storm will stop tomorrow 」
And that tomorrow is Friday, November 29.
The storm continued from morning to night.
「 This is tougher mentally than I thought it would be 」
We’re having a change of heart.
Immediately after the storm, we thought “It’ll stop tomorrow…”
The weather on this island is good, and the rain and wind never last that long.
Therefore, we don’t think too much about it.
For the next few days, we thought “it’s safe, we have food reserves”
Our biggest concern is safety.
I was worried about what would happen if the Tsunami swept into the center of the corridor.
But it doesn’t seem to be a problem, and it apparently turned out to be a non-issue.
It’s hard to stop the storm, but it’s not life-threatening.
We can just wait for it, we thought.
But now, this is what we’re thinking;
How long until it stops?
We’re also wondering if it might never clear up.
At times like this, I want the modern convenience of the weather forecast.
Normally, I’d curse saying “It’s raining even though it said that it’s only a 10 percent chance,” but at this point, I’d like to put my faith in such a forecast.
I want the weather lady to say “It’s going to clear up soon, so let’s calm down”
Not knowing when the weather would clear up was mentally difficult.
Saturday, November 30.
The rain continued this day too.
However, the momentum is getting weaker.
The level is no longer considered a storm.
The wind and rain are moderately strong…just moderate.
「 It seems that it’s going to finally stop raining tomorrow 」
The momentum is visibly weakening, more than yesterday, the day before that, and the day before that.
The waves are calming down, so there are no signs of storm surge.
「 Don’t let your guard down. We might just be entering the eye of the storm
It’s Karin who reminded people not to get carried away.
She’s right, we might be in the eye of the storm.
However, that’s still good.
「 It’s fine if it’s just for a moment. As long as it clears 」
Now we can get out.
We want to take a bath.
「 Sunny or not, wearing a hat should be enough to protect us 」
Meiko was making some hats during the storm.
It’s a cone-shaped hat that people used to wear on their heads back then.
It’s almost the same as the current umbrellas. It’s used to protect from the rain.
That said, it only protects your head.
Your body will get wet.
But that’s still better than nothing.
「 Let’s get through the day! 」
「 「 「 Oooh!! 」 」 」
We spent our day with strong hearts.
The sun is setting.
The rain continues to weaken.
It’s weak enough that you don’t have to describe it as heavy rain anymore.
The wind remained strong and we don’t have the desire to go outside.
「 I cooked food! 」
Eri shouts shortly before dinner.
Seeing her grasping her knees in front of the bonfire is adorable.
「 It’s nice to have it easy 」
I say while smiling.
Eri puffs her cheeks, saying “No way”
「 I like cooking! 」
Our meals have been preserved food until yesterday.
Dried meat, nuts, and such.
Because of that, our cook had nothing to do.
「 I can’t hold it anymore! I’m going to cook something! 」
Eri stood up.
「 Make something? What about the ingredients? 」
「 I’ll get them from the fridge! 」
「 No, no, it’s raining. You’ll catch a cold 」
「 I’ll use the hat! 」
Eri borrows a hat from Meiko and puts it on her head.
It’s too big and bulky for her tiny head.
That’s made for me.
There’s a lack of material so only mine was made.
「 I’ll make some so wait for me 」
Eri went off to the alley.
「 What a hard worker 」
Arisa says while laughing.
The others were equally amused by the reaction.
I didn’t care for it much at first either.
After a while, it started to bother me.
(It’s dangerous to go through the lake when it’s that filled)
Due to the size difference of the hat, Eri won’t have good visibility right now.
it’s going to be dangerous to go through the lake under such conditions.
That’s because the ground of the lake hides some rocks.
With rainwater dripping on it for a long time, it naturally becomes slimy and slippery.
If she’s not careful, she could fall.
「 I’ll go check on her 」
I told everyone that I’m going and I followed Eri.
